Getting Pictures Taken

If you're looking for a good place to get your baby's picture taken. I recommend Sears. I got out of there without paying too much and got some great pictures. If you go to their website, they have coupons: http://www.searsportrait.com/cpi/en-US/offers/
I bought the Smile Saver card and now if I go Monday- Thursday, I can get the buy one get one free deal plus they'll send me coupons plus I get a free 8 by 10 each visit. They only charge $7.99 a sheet if you can wait 2 weeks for your pictures. Or $10.99 a sheet same day. That's the cheapest price I've seen.

Here is what I'm signing Abby up for - for summer classes if you want to join us:

Swim Tu/Th 5:30- 6 pm at Beaverton Swim Center (I will sign her up for 2 sessions: June- July, July-August)

Magic Music Monday 9:35-10:05 am at Garden Home Rec Center- description is on page 130 of summer catalog- sounds fun

Joanne and I highly recommend Mommy, Me and Music at Garden Home. We had a lot of fun in the class. I wish I could sign up for that too. I'm going to try Magic Music for something different.

Abby has tried rice cereal and I've been mixing in new things- smashed up bananas, pumpkin from Carrie today.

What are you guys feeding your babies? I'm wondering what to let her try next. Any recipes to share?

Next Playgroup

February 12th- If it's nice weather we could go to the zoo for 2 buck Tuesday. I'll keep in touch through the blog and we'll decide.

If we end up at my house due to rain, bring your baby scrapbooks to share.

Sign Class

Let me know if you're interested in that sign class by Kari. We just need 5 people and she will come to us to teach the 6 sessions. We could do it before or after playgroup. She would prefer if it were the same house each time. I'm happy to host or someone else could. It's $70 for 6 sessions. Each are one hour long. I was hoping to start up when Abby is 6 months- maybe the week of March 24th. Let me know who's interested and I'll book Kari. I know JoAnne and Candice are. Anyone else?

Great Book

I highly recommend The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know About Your Baby From Birth to Age 2 by Dr. Spears and his wife. I'm reading the chapter on sleep and it's great. It's got great stuff on how to treat colds, etc too. The two of them have 8 kids and he's a pediatrician and she's a nurse and a lactation consultant- so they're very knowledgeable!

Park and Rec Classes for us mommies

There is a mommy and me exercise class but it's on Saturdays.

I sign myself up for the Fitness 20/20/20 class at Cedar Hills for Spring. It's 1/3 aerobic, 1/3 on strength and 1/3 on flexibility. Winter class was full.

I'm looking for a calorie burning class for winter but many are full. I guess I can do water aerobic classes with you Carrie this winter:) I'm motivated to lose this baby weight this winter- we're going on vacation in March to my cousin's wedding.

I think I 'm going to do a baby sign language class through this woman Kari that spoke at the Thursday St. Vincent Moms Group. It's seems like it's a better deal. I will email her flier to you guys. I'm hoping to start that in March when Abby is 6 months.

Next Playgroup and Dinner

See side bar for info on next playgroup and dinner. Everyone said Tuesdays work for playgroup so that will be our new day. As for the dinner, I know that February 2nd work for almost everyone. The only person I didn't hear from was Nicole. So Nicole let me know if that doesn't work.

Candice and I were talking about some of us that were able to to meet every week for playgroup. Candice said she would be happy to host. Are some of you up for meeting next week on Tuesday January 15th? Please comment and then we'll set a date.

Hey guys,

I stole this idea from someone in our new moms group. I made us a blog so we could chat and share ideas online. It's kind of like our new moms group but 24 hours a day. You can post questions, share news and share ideas. We are always giving each other ideas at playgroup (stores to buy baby stuff etc) but here's a way to do it without the information getting lost. We are all authors to this blog. Please add to it and change it around.

We can also post events. It's maybe an easier way to keep track of who's coming than all the emails because it's all in one place.
